Michelle Guy, Ph.D.

Dr. Michelle Guy received her doctoral degree in Psychological adn Cultural Studies from the School Psychology Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  She also earned a Masters degree in Educational Psychology and a Bachelors degree in Psychology from teh University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  While at UNL, Dr. Guy provided services to children in elementary school settings, preschool settings and provided family therapy to families experiencing distress within the family system.  She completed her APPIC approved internship in Omaha Public Schools, working as a school psychologist and supervising practicum students and interns.

Dr. Guy has 14 years of experience as a school psychologist and has worked in the preschool, elementary, middle and high school settings across four school districts and two states. In addition, Dr. Guy has worked with children from mullitple different income levels and developmental levels.  Her specialties include diagnostic assessment for children with learning disabilities, ADHD, cognitive delays and behavioral concerns.  Treatment methods include social skills training, anxiety reduction training and modifying the curriculum for all children to reach their potential.  In addition, Dr. Guy runs several groups in the areas of bully proofing, character education, anger management, and peer interactions and relationships.

Dr. Guy's therapeutic approach includes cognitive-behavioral and family systems theory.  She believes in helping children reach their potential in school and functioning as a positive participant within the family system.
